Titanic

Tell a story ‘bout the White Star Line, in the year of 1909,
They laid a keel of a legend ship, Titanic was the name
they gave it .

Built in Belfast, Queen’s Island yard, Harland
Wolff men working so hard
Four long years they struggled to make her
Blood sweat and tears their lives they gave her
Grace and elegance in water she towered
Forty six thousand horses of power

With her sailed a thousand dreams
Hopes of new life, love romantic
Bound for Queen’s town distant shore
Across the deepest North Atlantic

Titanic we all miss you
And broken hearted will
Remember what you stood for
We’re grieving for you still

In 1912 one April night
You slipped anchor, sailed from sight
Twenty three knots, you set the pace
Cunard set to loose the race
Captain Edward Smith at helm
Sail into Atlantic Realm

Then the fourteenth April night, iceberg in the water
Murdoch shouted full astern, the last belated order.
Titanic turned hard to port, too late to miss a glancing blow
Ice tore into her mortal hull, they said she was unsinkable

Titanic we all miss you
And broken hearted will
Remember what you stood for
We’re grieving for you still

The band on deck began to play, in the final hour
You didn’t die alone that night, the black sea to devour
Rockets in a starry sky called for help in vain
The children cried, the Captain too, held his head in shame

Fourteen hundred died that night
Both the young and old
Slowly sinking out of sight,
Frozen in the cold

Titanic we all miss you
Titanic Save our Soles
1400 lives were lost
Now never to grow old

Carpathia came to those, clung onboard the boats
But all those left within the sea, for them there was no hope

They gave you a heart, so proud and true and strong
Made by hands of honest men now long since gone
They said you were a keeper of our hopes and dreams
But all is never ever lost or simple as it seems

The ice cut in you deep, ripped you to the core
Lost in battle then, but now today you won the war

Titanic we all miss you
And broken hearted will
Remember what you stood for
We’re grieving for you still

Titanic we all miss you
Titanic Save our Soles
Keeper of our dreams
Though generations old
